In the framework of the GreenAL project, implemented by Co-PLAN, a dedicated meeting “Civil Society Dialogue on Energy and Climate: Recommendations for Sectoral Policies” was organized, to serve as a platform for civil society organizations to discuss Albania’s progress in the green transition.
Following the opening remarks by the GreenAL Project Manager, Mr. Imeldi Sokoli, presentations were given by civil society actors on Albania’s path toward energy and climate transition, during which they also presented relevant recommendations.
Mr. Meivis Struga (ETMI), in his presentation, gave several concrete recommendations in various areas, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and lowering final energy consumption. Mr. Mentor Kikia (FML) focused on direct field observations of climate change, its consequences, and the steps that must be taken to address these changes. Ms. Kejt Dhrami (Co-PLAN) also presented the Policy Brief on Energy and Climate, delivering concrete recommendations on decarbonization and the energy transition.












The meeting also featured a discussion panel on sectoral policy recommendations for political actors, where contributions were made by Mr. Erjon Tase (Academy of Political Studies), Ms. Valbona Mazreku (Milieukontakt), Mr. Mihallaq Qirjo (REC Albania), and Mr. Elvis Ndreka (Co-PLAN).






Following the meeting, a package of recommendations on climate and energy will be compiled and distributed to political parties and also published in the media.
