The Air Quality and Noise Pollution Report presents the key findings of air quality and noise pollution monitoring in the city of Tirana, based on the alternative monitoring methodology developed by Co-PLAN within the framework of the GreenAL project. The monitoring was conducted at 13 stations located in urban areas to analyze the concentrations of major pollutants, including PM₂.₅, PM₁₀, NO₂, CO₂, and noise pollution, helping to identify their sources and impacts on public health and the environment.
Air quality and noise pollution levels are among the most important factors affecting environmental quality and citizens’ well-being. Atmospheric pollutants, primarily caused by heavy traffic, construction activities, and other urban sources, significantly impact the concentration of fine particles and harmful gases. At the same time, traffic, construction, and industrial activities also contribute to noise pollution, creating a continuous impact on urban living conditions. For this reason, continuous monitoring and data analysis are essential to understanding pollution trends and identifying the most effective measures for improving these environmental factors.
