The call for Regional and Initiative Grants (16510-G03) was opened on April 7, 2025. The deadline for submitting Project Proposals is May 12, 2025, at 16:00.
Through this call, GreenAL aims to:
- Raise awareness and empower communities to apply positive pressure through accountability in the protection of biodiversity and habitats, adaptation and mitigation of climate change effects, reduction of pollution levels, etc.
- Support CSOs in strengthening their capacities and initiating dialogue at the local and regional levels through fact-based monitoring and advocacy for better policies in the fields of climate change, pollution, and nature conservation.
- Empower CSOs and strengthen cooperation between them and other stakeholders to become partners to institutions in the design and implementation of reforms, with a primary focus on Chapter 27 – Environment and the green transition, from the local to the regional and potentially national levels.
Applicants for Initiative Grants must support activities at the municipal or administrative unit level, where organizations have legitimacy and direct experience in addressing local issues. They must engage with stakeholders to amplify community voices and promote advocacy efforts.

All applications for Initiative Grants must be submitted ONLINE, by filling in the required information and uploading the relevant documents in the table below. All submitted documents/packages must be 5MB or smaller and in PDF format (except for Annexes 2 and 3).
