Water Quality Monitoring
Water pollution is one of the biggest environmental concerns, as it directly impacts aquatic ecosystems, biodiversity, human health, and food security. Water quality monitoring is important for identifying pollutants, assessing environmental impacts, and ensuring the sustainable use of water resources for the health of ecosystems and people.
As part of GreenAL’s activities, water quality monitoring is currently being carried out in several cities across Albania—specifically in Tirana, Durrës, Elbasan, Fier, Divjakë, and Has—through collaboration with local partner organizations. These monitoring efforts include physical, chemical, and biological analyses of water in rivers, lakes, and reservoirs, aiming to assess environmental impacts and promote measures for the protection of water resources.
