Training for Capacity Building of Civil Society Organizations in Project Cycle Management

In December, GreenAL organized a training session in Tirana as part of its grant program, focusing on Project Cycle Management (PCM). The event brought together civil society organizations (CSOs), project coordinators, and environmental advocates to build their expertise in designing, managing, and implementing environmental projects. This training is a key component of the #GreenAL initiative, which supports CSOs in driving sustainable development in Albania by providing them with practical tools and knowledge.

The Project Cycle Management training was structured to help participants navigate the full project cycle—from conceptualization and planning to implementation, monitoring, and reporting. Sessions covered, among others, funding opportunities, application procedures, and the steps needed to develop competitive project proposals. Participants also gained insights into financial management, including activity costing, budget monitoring, and meeting reporting requirements.

A dedicated training session explored the importance of integrating gender equity principles into project planning and implementation. Participants discussed how these principles can improve the sustainability and effectiveness of environmental projects, ensuring inclusivity and long-term success. The training also included hands-on activities, allowing participants to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. These exercises focused on building teamwork, critical thinking, and adaptability—skills essential for effective Project Cycle Management.

Another session focused on branding, visibility, and communication strategies, providing practical techniques to enhance outreach efforts and ensure projects effectively connect with stakeholders and the broader community. Participants explored how to use visual communication and tailored tools to amplify project visibility, engage target audiences, and build stronger connections with the public. This approach highlighted the importance of crafting clear, compelling messages to maximize the reach and impact of environmental initiatives.

The event concluded with a focus on collaboration and innovation, encouraging participants to address environmental challenges with strategic and inclusive approaches. By deepening their understanding of Project Cycle Management, the training enhanced the capacity of environmental organizations working toward sustainable development in Albania.

GreenAL will continue to support CSOs by offering tools, knowledge, and skills to address environmental challenges effectively. Through ongoing training and activities, the initiative aims to equip organizations across Albania to create meaningful and lasting environmental change.
